cat appeal

I never understood the appeal of picture calendars with cats on them. An old co-worker of mine used to have one and the more I looked at it the weirder they seemed. The month of April on said calendar had a picture of two kittens in a coffee mug and whenever I looked at it I would just imagine this crazy photographer being like “two kittens on a calendar has been done before - we need something more, something to make this calendar unique, better than any kitten calendar ever manufactured!” Then maybe he took a sip of his coffee from his favorite coffee mug and was like “I’ve got it! Put the cats in the coffee mug.”
